Studies have shown that paper is best suited for hand cleaning. Why is that? Some of the dirt is already removed from the hand by the running water and soap. But the majority is only removed with the towel. Paper has a particularly high absorption capacity due to its large and open-pored surface structure. This is why only paper is authorised for hand cleaning in the medical sector.
